Getting these calls too? I’ve gotten calls daily from telemarketers wanting to “Show You How to Put 20 People in Your Business” week after week after week.
Since end of last week, I have gotten at least one call per day from a telemarketer wanting me to sit in on a 45-55 minute teleconference so someone could “Show You How to Put 20 People in Your Business” week after week after week.
What’s the gimmick? Well, honestly I have not gotten that far, but I’ve read the pitch countless times on different turnkey ‘Lead Generation System” websites and on media sites like Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, etc.
And now someone’s taken it to telephone soliciting? Out of the last 3 calls I have received, here is what happened:
Tele Sales guy #1 – very high pressure, fast talker, almost to the point of being insulting and rude. When I said “no thanks” to the 45-55 minute spiel; let’s just call the 20 people you signed up in your business, he wanted to argue that his system was better than anything I might be using. I said “Great”, let’s start calling your last 20 people. He hung up on me. That left me puzzled.
Tele Sales gal #2 – very nice lady and she gave the same spiel, would it be worth 45 minutes of your time if I could “Show You How to Put 20 People in Your Business” each and every week? When I suggested she and I call the 20 people she put in her business last week using her system, she decided I must have a pretty good system already and ended the conversation. I began to wonder, what the heck – two similar calls two days in a row.
Tele sales gal #3 – again, a very nice lady, but you could tell she was reading from a script. When I passed on the 45-55 minute teleconference so someone could “Show You How to Put 20 People in Your Business” week after week after week and instead suggested I would not mind spending that time calling 20 people she had put in her business last week using this system, here’s where the truth first started coming out.
She doesn’t use the system. She’s just being paid to call people from a list and only started last week. In a way it reminded me of a previous upline of mine who sold us, her downline, leads but she didn’t use bought leads to build her business and worse, she didn’t go out and buy the ones she sold us. She scavenged our prospects off Job boards like Monster Job.com. What a racket!
Funny thing about Network Marketing SYSTEMS. There are a lot of people out there pitching ‘their’ systems and they do not even use them themselves. Now why is that? Could it be that the ‘sell’ of the system is more advantageous and financially rewarding than the actual value and content of the system itself?
Leaves a whole lot of unanswered questions for me, so you can bet I’ll be asking the next telemarketer who calls…. Now if my suspicions are right, that should be tomorrow.
Happy Networking
