It’s important that make our new business partners aware of the rules, because many distributors on social media sites like Facebook, Myspace, the Ning sites, etc…. are VIOLATING the contract they agreed to when they partnered up with their home based business company. How does this happen? Simple – we do not read the contract. For some reason we do not feel it is important.
Too many people just click the box and move on. It’s only when potential heartache at the loss of our check or downline, that we wish we had not been so lighthearted and trusting when we joined.
Recently I was on a coaching call. The person we were talking with had asked if I could review her companies Policies and Procedures. Reading YOUR PnP’s is is a hot button with me. Policies and Procedure show you a Company’s INTENT therefore when you read them you know what to expect from the Company!
The specific Company we were discussing at the time does NOT matter. Just realize that YOU may be in this Company or may even have similar restrictions. this Policy or one very similar to it !!! Below is a clause you might want to check on, especially if you are marketing online. Be sure to check both your Policies and procedures AND your Terms Of Service.
4.4.2 Blogs, Chat rooms, Social Networks, Online Auctions, and other Online Forums. Except as otherwise indicated herein, you agree to not use any other website, including but not limited to, online blogs, chat rooms social networks, online forum to market, sell, advertise, promote, or discuss ABC’s products or services, or the ABC’s opportunity. You agree that this provision is material to the Agreement and if you breach it by advertising our products through an online auction, you agree that we may terminate the Agreement without notice. Notwith standing the foregoing ….
I talk with many who download the free ebook, Success in 10 Steps. Some read these things and think ‘well, they would never do that. They would never terminate a distributor. What? Do you think the company has time to go around the internet monitoring what everyone is doing?"
To that last statement, I say, ‘probably not’. However, there are distributors in EVERY organization who live in negativity, fear, jealousy, and if they find it benefits them to report you, they might. That’s just the hard cold truth!
Read your company’s Policies and Procedures! If you need help, let me know.
